Rio Pastaza, on the Way to Puyo
Well, well, well. Happy Valentine’s Day to you all!
The picture shown here is a picture of the Rio Pastaza on the way to Puyo, which is on the edge of the jungle. We went a little bit into the jungle during a free weekend (that’s to say without students), so it was pretty cool.
Anyway, I had a successful trip to the mangrove forest, though I was waylayed by a dead battery (and therefore no photos) and a bridge that couldn’t support even a skinnier Odie (and I scratched my nipple, and it hurt!) The mosquitos were biting, too, and the bites were quite itchy. That has subsided, however.
So, I have no mangrove pictures. I may get some up from a banana and cacao plantation, however, which was on the way to the mangrove forest. We’ll see. I’ve not decided whether they are O-Blog worthy.
Just wanted to share a small little idea of my job.
A student is coming from Ohio University as part of an Ohio U program, and we need them to fill out these homestay questionaires so that they can get placed with a family that’s a good fit. Anyway, most students use their school email addresses, but not this one girl, who used her beer.com email address. I am smelling trouble from 2873 miles away.

Thanks for building up the impressive mangove forest and then not backing it up with anything. I wish I could get back the 42 seconds I’ve spent reading the mangrove introduction. So until I see evidence of said greatness, I say BOOO! to your attempt to build OBLOG credibility by name dropping the National Geographic explorer. Tsk, tsk.
