World’s Tallest Mangroves
That’s right, you’re all jealous! I am going to going into a mangrove forest, but not just any mangrove forest — these mangroves are in the Gulf of Guayaquil, which happens to host some of the tallest mangroves in the world. While this link doesn’t support that information, our resident scientist, who happens to be one of just 10 National Geographic Explorers in the world, told me so. And, he’s probably smarter than you, at least when it comes to tall mangrove rankings!
So, I will be going to see these tall trees this weekend. Allegedly, the mosquitos are quite powerful, so I am not so looking forward to that part, nor will I be looking forward to my 6:45 AM departure tomorrow. On that note, I am off to prepare a sack lunch for the trip!
